Why people use Geoniks as their home design app

  • Nothing to install — it opens in the browser on any computer or phone; your house is saved in your account.
  • A real house, not only furniture — walls have real thickness and construction — log, timber frame, post & beam or CLT.
  • Ready houses to start from — 18 wooden houses: cabins, bungalows, tiny houses and family homes.
  • 2D and 3D together — draw in the plan and watch the 3D house update next to it.
  • Walkthrough — walk through the rooms at eye height before anything is built.
  • From design to price — a cost estimate for your country and free quotes from wooden house manufacturers.

On a computer or on a phone?

Both work. On a phone, the easiest start is a ready-made house or a photo of your own plan — our team builds the plan in 3D for you. On a computer you can also draw every wall yourself with exact lengths (type 5.2 or 520cm), use a rectangle tool, push/pull, dimensions and a tape measure. The same project opens on every device.

How to design your house with the Geoniks app

  1. Open geoniks.com and sign up with Google or email — free, no download.
  2. Choose a start — a ready wooden house, a blank plan, or send a photo of your own plan.
  3. Change the house — move walls, resize rooms, add doors, windows, stairs, a roof and a deck.
  4. Look at it in 3D — orbit around the house or walk through it at eye height.
  5. Get the price — see a cost estimate for your country and, if you want, ask manufacturers for quotes.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a free home design app that works without a download?

Yes. Geoniks runs in the web browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox) on Windows, Mac, Linux, iPhone, iPad and Android. You sign up with Google or email and start designing; nothing is installed. Designing, the walkthrough, the price estimate and manufacturer quotes are free.

Can I design a house on my phone?

Yes. On a phone you can open a ready-made house, change it, look around it in 3D and walk through it, request a price and send a photo of your own plan. Drawing a complete plan wall by wall is easier on a computer with a mouse, and your project is the same on every device.

Do I need design experience?

No. Most people start from one of 18 ready wooden houses — cabin, bungalow, tiny house or family home — and change rooms, size, roof and windows. If you already have a sketch or an architect’s plan, you can send a photo and the Geoniks team builds it in 3D for you, free.

What can I design with it?

Small and medium houses: wooden houses, log houses and cabins, timber frame and post & beam houses, tiny houses, bungalows, cottages and holiday homes, with decks, porches, stairs and roofs. It is built for real timber construction, not only for arranging furniture.

Does the app tell me what the house will cost?

Yes. Geoniks shows a planning price per m² for your country (46 countries in the Geoniks Wooden House Price Index) and a cost estimate from your design. With your consent, wooden house manufacturers that build in your country can send you real quotes.

Can I share or print my design?

Yes. Share a 3D link, or export a drawing set: dimensioned floor plans and elevations as PDF and DXF, plus a materials list in Excel.
